Norwegian psychedelic space rock group Black Moon Circle was formed by Øyvin Engan (bass/vocals) and Vemund Engan (guitar) in 2012. Rising out of the ashes of the fast paced garage punk rock band The Reilly Express, the line- up was completed with the addition of Per Andreas Gulbrandsen on drums. The sound of Black Moon Circle combines long jams with heavy riffage, the extensive use of effects on bass and guitar and analogue synths oscillating with echoes and delays created by Dr Space.

The band released their self-titled debut album in February 2014 on Space Rock Productions. In April, the band returned to the studio and during an efficient one-day run, recorded “Andromeda”, which was released by Crispin Clover Records/Stickman Records in October 2014. Their third record was «The Studio Jams Vol I: Yellow Nebula in the Sky», which is their first album of pure improvised instrumental jams, and as the title hints, there are many more to come. The fourth effort of the group, entitled «Sea of Clouds», was released on Crispin Glover Records in April 2016.

All albums have been received with great praise from the underground media, including Top 10 new bands by the Obelisk web site! In 2016 the band played at the Roadburn Festival in Holland, and Pstereo Festival in Norway. The band is slowly making a name for itself in the underground psychedelic and space rock scene in Europe.

The bands 5th release, The Studio Jams Vol II is out in November 2016. The music on this album is one long 45min space jam recorded live in the studio in 2016. It features amazing moods and sounds as the musical trip builds up to a massive jam, returns to earth with some intense interludes before exploding into space once again.

These days BMC are in The Nautilus mixing The Studio Jams Vol III feat. guest guitarist Snah, due out in May 2017.
